Hepatitis B (Hep B)
Symptoms:
- Often nothing - but can be detected by a blood test.
- Sometimes flu-like symptoms.
- Tiredness.
- Jaundice - yellowish skin and eyes, and urine can be dark.
Treatment: Regular visits to the clinic
A serious liver disease, which can make you very ill. Hep B can take months to recover from and in some cases can be fatal.
Prevention:
- Hep B is the only STD that can be prevented by vaccination, which is free from any GUM clinic.
- The virus is mainly passed on through sexual contact. It is very infectious and is present in blood, shit, saliva and cum.
