Syphilis (The Pox)

Symptoms:

  • Sometimes none at all, but can be detected by a blood test.
  • Painless sores on the penis, mouth or anus.
  • Rash on the body.
  • Flu-like symptoms.

Treatment: Regular visits to the Clinic

  • If treated early Syphilis can be completely cured with a course of antibiotics.

WARNING!If left untreated Syphilis can cause mental illness, blindness heart disease or even death.

Prevention:

  • Syphilis is present in blood and other body fluids and can be passed on through contact with these.
  • Using condoms will reduce the risk of infection.
