Syphilis (The Pox)



Symptoms:
- Sometimes none at all, but can be detected by a blood test.
- Painless sores on the penis, mouth or anus.
- Rash on the body.
- Flu-like symptoms.
Treatment: Regular visits to the Clinic
- If treated early Syphilis can be completely cured with a course of antibiotics.
If left untreated Syphilis can cause mental illness, blindness heart disease or even death.
Prevention:
- Syphilis is present in blood and other body fluids and can be passed on through contact with these.
- Using condoms will reduce the risk of infection.
