Autumn Update
It seems like only yesterday we were gearing up for Swindon & Wiltshire Pride, and now it's time to start thinking about getting out your red ribbon!
The 3rd Swindon Pride event had a great turn out, despite the lack of sunshine. Men's Sexual Health was busy as ever, providing 193 chlamydia screens on the day, in addition to our other services. Many people filled in our Health Needs Analysis for the Swindon PCT. If you haven't already had your say, please click this link, so you can help make a difference!
September saw us visiting all the Swindon & Wiltshire Fresher's Fairs. It's great to see so many young people interested in our services and we hope to get more of you involved in our fortnightly LGBT youth group, 2BME. Remember, we can cover the cost of getting you to our group, and we welcome new faces! Please give Matt a ring (01380 801951) or drop him an email (matt@2bme.org.uk) to see about attending.
October 18-24 is National Alcohol Awareness Week. In support of this, Wiltshire Community Safety Partnership is hosting a number of public information displays countywide. Did you know, that there were 2,232 crimes in Wiltshire attributed to alcohol in 2009-10? Of those, a shocking 1,747 were violent and 41 were sexual. Have a look at their website for more information. You can always give us a ring if you'd like someone to talk to about these issues.
We are working on raising awareness around World Aids Day, December 1st, so make sure you watch this space!
