What's the reason for my bf going soft during sex?

Probably anxiety but the answer is never simple and can be due to a number of factors which may act together to reduce his ability to get and maintain an erection. Under that 'confident' facade he might be not totally secure with the size of his cock or with his ability to make you come. He could however just have had too much booze or other drugs. Smoking tobacco can reduce a man's erection size and durability. Alcohol leads to classic 'brewer's droop'. The healthier the body and mind, the more able a male is to get turned on and get hard. It's natural. Fit to breed is fit to fuck. Then it also depends on what he likes. If it's anxiety based, you can do a lot by simply reducing the pressure on him to perform. Try enjoying other physical contact with him apart from fucking. Get him to relax. If it's drug or lifestyle related, then you might have more of an issue on your hands. If he is the kind of guy who is in touch with his feelings, his body and his health, then talk to him as a best friend and lover. It really depends on how much you love him, how much he loves you, whether it's worth going the extra mileage for a successful outcome. Up to you.

Response from Men's Sexual Health:
Hello and thank you for contacting Men's Sexual Health.
Erection problems are either a physical issue, or psychological issue. Most men have experienced some form of erectile issue during their life, some its a passing phase, others it can be a longer issue where support is needed, and that could be medical or psychological depending on whats causing it For example some Physical issues include - deterioration of the arteries (this is more common in older men), diabetes, smoking, alcoholism, overweight, hormone problems. And some Psychological issues include - anxiety/nerves, relationship problems, depression, exhaustion, stress, childhood abuse.
Obviously we can't determine which of the above is the cause for your bf losing his erection. Is he able to maintain an erection when masturbating? If so, that could point towards it being more of a psychological issue than a physical one. If this is the case he may benefit from talking to a professional about his feelings, if you guys live in Swindon then please get back in touch as we can offer free counselling service.
