It sounds as if this might have been the first time you have masturbated? If so, it is very likely that by the time you have read this the problem has gone away! For most of us the penis stands up (an erection) when we get sexually excited – but not every time. This is normal. In some circumstances guys may feel guilty about masturbation – for example if your religion tells you it is wrong. Guilty feelings or anxiety might stop you getting an erection for a bit, but almost always if you have had one recently another one will come along. If it doesn't, ask you doctor for some help.
